This is great reflection Helen and looking at ‘flow’ as a way forward will be interesting for you. AMAZING seeing your body of work in one place, inspiring output. Thanks for the book suggestions.
I think art is interesting, mysterious, free and strange. I don't understand difficult things, but I am influenced by art and enjoy the changes. I see compatibility with art works with the important eyes of my heart. It tingles. I come across works that move me so much that I tremble. I do calligraphy. The mysterious movement of the brush is art, and ink and paper are also transformed into paper and ink of various colors from vegetables, fruits, rapeseed, soybeans, sesame, pine, etc. I felt that the mysterious world was close. Yay for experiments > goals! And yes, great reflections and analysis of why someone else's process might be exactly wrong for me. One of the great benefits of being on Substack is learning about the process from a huge community of creatives and realizing that the advice in this or that self-help book is merely a suggestion that could well bomb in my real life.
Also...did I read your graphic scale correctly...your pieces are massive!

Thanks Kath, really appreciate you
Clever words about goals for anybody in the creative space, Helen. And what a body of work, huge effort - Brilliant!

I have a KPop theme song for you “antifragile” by Le Sserafim. https://youtu.be/pyf8cbqyfPs?si=QNmnGFNiIUE_Lshj
That was a fun song, thanks!

I hope I got my scale right - the big black and white piece was 2.4 meters by 1.5 meters . The water colours are a dainty 76 x 56 cm.
Having the courage to take up space is a huge challenge for me, so one I have been diving in to
Glad you like the work!
